Summer Cookbook Club: Jessie Sheehan 🎉
Join us for a Virtual Baking Party in late July!
We’re a full week into summer, officially, and we’re feeling it! Corn and peaches are popping up our tables, and I’m still holding out for a perfect summer tomato.
And do you know what else screams summer to me? Dessert. I love dessert year-round, but when fruit cobblers, icebox cakes, and big bowls of ice cream (or towering soft-serve cones covered in sprinkles) end the meal, I’m as happy as could be.
That is why I’m thrilled to announce that our featured author for the Summer 2022 Salt + Spine Cookbook Club is JESSIE SHEEHAN! Get ready to dive into Jessie’s recipes for “easy-peasy … exceptionally scrumptious sweets and treats” and come together to bake with fellow cookbook lovers.
Here’s how to get involved:
Come together for our Virtual Baking Party with Jessie Sheehan, me (Brian Hogan Stewart), Monique Llamas (of Hardcover Cook), and fellow club members. We’ll meet up on Zoom where you can bake along with Jessie (or just watch), enjoy the opportunity to ask questions, and connect with other cookbook lovers.2
Reserve your seat for our Virtual Baking Party with Jessie Sheehan so you’re the first to know the featured menu!

Thanks, as always, to our Cookbook Club sponsor, Hardcover Cook, the subscription box and ingredient shop for cookbook lovers, and our co-host, The Civic Kitchen, San Francisco’s cooking school for home cooks.
The Salt + Spine Cookbook Club is like a regular book club…but with a special twist. Each season, we focus on one book—reading, cooking and connecting on social media (see “Participate” below). The bonus: we get together live with the author for a Cook- or Bake-along Party. The Party is currently virtual (via Zoom); we look forward to the day when the club can meet in person at The Civic Kitchen.
Stay tuned for this week’s podcast episode and the Virtual Baking Party menu announcement. Happy Summer!
–Brian, Clea, and the Salt + Spine team
Please note: The Salt+Spine Cookbook Club Dinner (or Baking!) Party is not a formal cooking class. It is a cooking-optional event meant for gathering, interacting with the author and other club participants, and celebrating an exceptional book and writer.
