You can find amazing avocados year-round in Northern California. I know how rare this is, because I lived in New York. Finding a decent avocado in New York can be tougher than snagging a seat on the subway during rush hour.
This salad can find a place on the table any time of the year, but it goes particularly well with the slightly heavier pasta dishes in the fall. Don’t cut the avocados until you are almost ready to serve the salad, so they stay fresh and green, and be sure to have some bread nearby to soak up the extra salsa!
